Data Recovery is a long and tedious process so be prepared to allow sometimes up to 3 days for full recovery. If the media has been "killed" or "scrubbed" using specialized software the data is irretrievable, so it is best to bring the unit in for evaluation before attempting retrieval on your own.

Cost

  • Cost depends a lot on what kind of data needs to be restored and the extend of the damage to the drive
  • The average cost for this service is $39.99 For The Actual Retrieval Process. An additional $39.99 May be Charged to Transfer data to Another Computer or Drive
  • Additional charges may also apply if other services such as installing a fresh drive and/or operating system into a clients computer. Be sure to let our technician know what service are required so we can give you an accurate estimate and the best service possible.

Please keep in mind that all effort is made to retrieve as much data as possible, however data retrieval is just that. RFC will attempt to retrieve data only. There is no guarantee that after the data retrieval process a drive can be used as a boot drive for the computer or that programs will be useable.

In most cases a new drive or another computer will have to be formatted, an operating system installed, programs reinstalled and the data then transferred to the new hardware. It is up to the client to then determine what data is to be saved and what is no longer needed.

Our techs are always pleased to help with that process, however shop rates of $55.00 per hour for in shop assistance and $75.00 per hour for on-site assistance do apply. Remote assistance can also be utilized at $45.00 per hour but is not as effective as having the client in direct communication with the technician and can actually slow the assistance process
